It blocks up to 98% of UV rays, with a shade rate of 90%–95% (and slightly lower in the white series). The material is designed to withstand light rain, offering a degree of weather resilience without promising protection during heavy storms.

Performance and weather-ready design

Weather resistance is paired with practical construction. The shade sail supports a water pressure resistance of 400 kPa, making it suitable for everyday showers and light rain. For best results, avoid relying on it in heavy rain or storms. The fabric is joined using a hot-melt adhesive and splice process, so most sizes are composed of two pieces with reinforced seams to minimize leaks at the join.

Installation and customization

For optimal runoff and long-term performance, install the shade sail at a 30-degree angle with maximum tension. Proper setup helps prevent water from pooling and preserves the structure over time. There is a recommended space of 0.5–1 ft to accommodate accessories, and note that there may be a tolerance of ±2 inches between the outer edges of the D-rings due to fabric characteristics.
