Measure with the shelves up and the lid closed — width across the widest point, then depth and height — and add two to three inches for clearance.

Look for vents, which do most of the work in cutting the condensation that rusts a firebox from the inside; a fabric weight around 600D or heavier; and either a drawstring hem or side straps if your site is windy.
