Fabric is where the money goes and where it shows. Solution-dyed acrylic has the pigment locked into the fibre and holds colour in direct sun for years; printed polyester is cheaper and fades on the exposed side first.

Fill matters for how it ages: open-cell foam wrapped in polyester is comfortable and slow to dry, while reticulated quick-dry foam drains after rain and is worth it if your seating is not under cover.
