ECOWITT WH40BH Wireless Rain Gauge Sensor (Accessory Only) – 5cm Funnel, 15 Bird Spikes, 915 MHz

Overview

The ECOWITT WH40BH is designed as a purpose-built outdoor rain-gauge accessory that elevates rainfall collection. By increasing the funnel height to 5 cm (1.96 in), this design offers a broader capture area compared with earlier models, providing rain data with more detail across varied conditions in your garden, yard, or small farm.

What’s included and how it works

• 15 bird spikes are included to deter birds from perching on the funnel, helping keep measurements clean and consistent.
• The rain collector transmits rainfall data wirelessly up to 328 ft (100 m) to ECOWITT gateways and consoles.
• Data resolution is 0.1 mm (0.01 inch) for rainfall rate and totals across daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly views.

Compatibility and setup

• Must pair with an ECOWITT gateway or console; it cannot function as a standalone device.
• Operating at 915 MHz RF provides reliable outdoor communication for a wide space.
• Two installation options: fix with U-bolts on a pole or mount on a leveled surface with screws.

Data access and usage

After pairing and Wi‑Fi configuration, rainfall data can be uploaded to the ECOWITT cloud system. View measurements in the ECOWITT app or website, and access compatible platforms such as Weather Underground (WU), WOW, and WeatherCloud.

Usage ideas and benefits

• Ideal for home gardens, backyards, and small farms needing dependable rainfall insight for irrigation planning.
• Designed to upgrade existing ECOWITT setups, offering clearer visibility of rainfall trends over time.
• Provides a practical upgrade path to capture more complete rainfall data, without changing the core gateway setup.

Note: This is an accessory and cannot be used alone. It requires pairing with an ECOWITT gateway/console to upload data.
