Midwest Hearth Natural Tumbled Lava Stones for Gas Fire Pits and Fireplaces | Large 2-3 in | 10 Lbs

Elevate your gas fire features with Midwest Hearth Natural Tumbled Lava Stones. Hand-tumbled to a smooth, rounded finish, these stones deliver a contemporary, clean look that complements modern gas burners, fire bowls, and gas log sets.

Why choose smooth lava stones

Traditional porous lava rock can look rugged. The smooth, rounded edges of these stones reduce snagging and create a refined bed for flame visualization. The balanced 2-3 inch size offers substantial presence without overpowering the space, making it a versatile choice for standard outdoor fire pits and decorative gas features.

• Smooth, non jagged finish for a modern aesthetic
• 2-3 inch size provides natural coverage and flame visibility
• Heat resistant natural lava stone maintains color and form under operation
• Suitable for indoor and outdoor gas features

Coverage, setup, and care

One 10-lb box covers roughly a 12" × 12" area in a single layer. For a fuller bed, plan on 3–4 boxes and feel free to mix with other Midwest Hearth sizes for depth and texture.

• One 10-lb box covers about 12 x 12 inches in a single layer
• Use 3–4 boxes for a full fire pit bed
• Pair with gas burners in fire pits, bowls, or modern gas logs

Heat safety and care

Made from 100% natural volcanic lava stone, these rocks withstand high temperatures without crumbling or discoloring. Important: always allow stones to dry completely before use; wet stones can crack when exposed to heat. Not recommended for wood-burning fireplaces.

Quality you can rely on
