Overview

Meet the RAINPOINT HWG040 Ethernet Gateway, a compact yet capable hub built to keep your smart irrigation system connected where it matters most—in your yard, garden, and lawn. Combining 2.4GHz WiFi and Ethernet, this gateway handles signals across long distances (up to roughly 250 meters) and can navigate through 3–4 walls, helping your sprinklers and sensors stay in sync with your watering schedule.

Flexible connectivity that adapts to your space

The gateway offers two reliable wiring options, letting you choose Ethernet for a stable backbone or WiFi when cabling is not practical. The hardware is designed to maintain a steady link to your network, reducing the chances of missed schedules and stale data.

Expand your smart watering network

One gateway can pair with up to eight RAINPOINT devices, creating a coordinated system that includes soil and rain sensors along with sprinkler controllers. This setup gives you the ability to tailor irrigation with a broader range of inputs and scenarios.

  • Soil moisture sensors help you respond to plant needs with timing and precision
  • Rain sensors help prevent waste by adjusting if rain is detected
  • Compatibility with HTV107B, HTV145, HTV210B, and HTV245 expands your options

Real-world benefits you may notice

In practice, this gateway acts as a stable backbone for a smart watering setup. Expect smoother schedule execution, better alignment with local weather, and easier growth of lush lawns and thriving garden beds. The system is designed to be scalable as your landscape changes.

Setup, control, and app integration

Note that the gateway connects to 2.4GHz WiFi and the RAINPOINT HOME app for configuration and ongoing control. Once connected, you can monitor status, adjust schedules, and expand by adding more compatible devices as your needs evolve.

  • 2.4GHz WiFi and Ethernet options provide flexible installation
  • One gateway, many devices: simplifies management of multiple irrigation components
