Redemption Colocasia: Dramatic Foliage for Outdoor Spaces

Redemption Colocasia, also known as Elephant Ear, makes a striking addition to containers, poolside plantings, and landscape accents. The leaves start with a deep black tone and, as they mature, reveal a hot pink center and pink veining that intensifies in warmer weather.

Stems emerge as tall, dark structures that can form elegant clumps, creating vertical impact that can reach 3–4 feet in height. This combination of height and color makes it a standout feature in both sunny and lightly shaded beds.

Care is straightforward: plant in full sun to part shade and amend soil with compost or other organic matter. Keep the plant consistently moist, so the foliage remains lush and the color stays bold.

Color and heat interact in a lively way—neon pink hues become even more vibrant as temperatures rise, offering seasonal shifts that can refresh summer displays.
