Weber Spirit 2025 or Genesis: how to check griddle insert fit

BBQ Future griddle insert with handles and silicone mitts shown in the Weber fit buying guide

A Spirit insert and a Genesis insert should not be treated as interchangeable. Start with the exact model and generation of your grill, then compare the insert dimensions and its stated fit list. “Weber 300 series” alone is not enough information to choose a plate.

This guide compares two aftermarket listings at PatioZora: BBQ Future for the Spirit 300 Series (2025), and GLOWYE 6788 for Genesis II 300 Series. They are products from those respective makers, not Weber-manufactured parts. Their presence in the same collection is an invitation to check fit, rather than evidence that either will fit every Weber grill.

Find the model before choosing the insert

Use the identification label and your original manual to record the full model, serial number and generation. A purchase year alone can be misleading: a grill bought in a particular year may belong to an earlier design. Keep a photo of the label for comparison or a support inquiry, rather than relying on a family nickname.

Weber’s US griddle insert range separates inserts by grill family and burner configuration. Its Spirit accessory guidance also distinguishes generations and warns that cookbox sizes change. That guidance is useful for understanding the fit problem; it does not certify the aftermarket products below. Regional Weber part numbers may also differ.

Compare the two current listings

Listing Stated grill family Check before purchase
BBQ Future full-size insert Spirit 300 Series (2025) Exact 2025 model and the listed insert dimensions
GLOWYE 6788 full-size insert Genesis II 300 Series Exact Genesis II model and its support arrangement

The reference “6788” in an aftermarket listing is not proof that the item is an original Weber part. Read the maker name, package contents and fit notes together. Do not transfer a compatibility list from a genuine Weber accessory to a different manufacturer’s insert.

Compare measurements with the correct surfaces

Measure the relevant cooking area only when the grill is cold and follow its manual. Compare usable width and depth, the support ledges, clearance for handles and the route used by grease. A plate can have roughly the right footprint while resting incorrectly or obstructing a required opening. If those details cannot be confirmed, ask before buying.

Check whether the maker describes replacing grates or placing an accessory on top of them. These are different arrangements. Avoid treating a product photograph as installation instructions. The instructions supplied for your grill and insert determine the supported setup.

Choose for the way you cook

A larger plate can provide a continuous surface, but fit takes priority over cooking area. Consider whether you want a full-width conversion or a partial griddle while keeping a separate grate area. Then check the actual package, including whether handles or accessories are included. Accessories pictured beside another listing do not automatically come with your choice.

For cleaning and seasoning, follow the chosen manufacturer’s instructions. A carbon-steel description does not establish whether a particular surface is coated, pre-seasoned or suitable for a specific cleaning method. Avoid moving a hot insert merely because handles are shown in the photos.

Use the live listing for price and stock

The cards below show current USD prices and availability. Open the exact product before adding it to your cart, particularly when an older search result refers to a different grill generation. If it is unavailable, compare another listing with an independently confirmed fit instead of selecting the nearest-looking plate.

Does the same burner count guarantee fit?

No. Family, generation, measurements and support details still matter.

Can PatioZora help me compare two listings?

Email the product links and your exact grill model. Include the model label and relevant measurements if available. Do not order until an unresolved compatibility detail is clarified.
