Design and installation

Installation should be at a 30-degree angle with maximum tension to encourage water run-off and face-up water shedding. This helps prevent water accumulation on the canopy. A surrounding space of about 0.5–1 ft around the edges is recommended for any hardware or accessories to avoid an oversized fit and ensure proper coverage. There may be a tolerance of ±2 inches from the outer edge of one D-ring to the other, depending on the fabric cut and manufacturing process. The shade sails are built from two-piece fabric in most sizes; this improves waterproof performance, and leaks at the seam are minimized by the splicing process.
